This laundry room kind of makes doing laundry sound exciting!

Yes that's all our yard. Yes it's that big. Yes Lee is frantically saving money for a riding lawn mower. Yes he has to use the push mower for awhile.

“Like Dorothy, we all long for home.  I think God places this longing in our hearts to remind us of the glory that awaits.”  A wise friend

The hedges kind of make me feel like I have a secret garden. This makes me happy.

  1. ok, seriously, did y’all buy a hampton inn or something? so excited for you.

  2. Not exactly. You’ll notice I didn’t put up pictures of any of the bathrooms. It’s because they’re nasty and so outdated. We will be spending the next few years fixing those bad boys up. I’ll share pics of the bedrooms once they’ve been painted. They, too, need some TLC. 🙂

  3. mell cable=funny

    love the laundry room

did you do the kitchen decal? what a wonderful verse to remember!

    love it all!

    • The kitchen and laundry room were already done. All of the living areas are great (minus a couple of window treatments). It’s the bedrooms and bathrooms that make me cringe. It will be a slow process of getting those into decent shape. I wish you were closer to help!! 🙂

  4. Kel, I totally love it! And I’m cracking up over that backyard. It is so totally pristine. I mean, I think Lee could golf back there. I’m envisioning lot’s of BBQ’s at the Stuart home! I’m so glad that you guys are home. I pray that as you guys begin to put your roots down that you do it with abandon. I pray you will be unafraid to offer everything up in hopeful expectation of what the Lord will do. Exciting stuff my friend! And um, that laundry room makes me want to come to your house just so I can do laundry!

    • Come on down and bring your laundry! 🙂

Thanks for the words of encouragement. The yard is my favorite feature of the house. It may be a pain to maintain, but I think the benefits for the kids are going to far outweigh the hassle. Yesterday I looked out the window and there were seven kids (including my own) playing football out there. That made my heart soar. That’s why we got this house. Love you, friend.

  5. SOOOOOOO happy about your house and yard! I echo Tiffany’s prayer for you…BUT, I am not really wanting to come do laundry! 🙂 I do, however, think a chandelier in the laundry room would be a really nice touch!!!

    • This was my comment….got a new computer and all the settings have changed and I didn’t realize I wasn’t ‘signed in’! 🙂

      • Yes, me too! I am on the hunt for the perfect girly light to complete that room and make it feel less like a really pretty dungeon. :). Thanks, Karen! Hope you’re having fun with your new computer! Those are always exciting.

  6. Kelli, the house looks amazing! Can’t wait to visit. Seriously, you have your own pool!

  7. Congratulations, Kelli! Dorothy’s right. There’s no place like home…
As for Lee, there’s no thing like a riding lawnmower. But what a terrific yard. 🙂

    • Thanks Aimee. Yeah…he’s going to be hurting for one pretty quickly. :). The exercise will be good, though…right? Silver lining?

  8. How exciting to see pictures of your new home and YARD. I can’t wait to get there Save me something to do! Love you guys!

  9. Congrats! Here is another saying to compliment the ones you posted…”There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort.” Jane Austen

  10. Kel- what a great house!!!! I can’t wait to see it in person….I wish that I could come help with bathroom remodeling. I love that kind of thing and really enjoy the challenge of doing it as frugally as possible!

    • Oh my…then I wish you were here, because the idea of it stresses me out. For now a fresh coat of paint and new shower curtains will have to do the trick. Whenever you want to come, just let me know. We’ve got space for all of you! 🙂

  11. That pool is going to be awesome when Melody, Lisa and I come down to visit you and have a little Blissdom reuinon conference of our own. I’m so happy you guys are settled – I’ll be sure to keep you posted on all the gory details of the impending St. Louis winter.

  12. “The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.” Maya Angelou
    That’s a nice quote…
I’m so happy for you, dear friend! Be happy in your new home!
